How to Create a YouTube Video in under 15 Minutes

August 1, 2016 by Tony Leary Leave a Comment

I continuously get requests from home improvement businesses to create videos about their services. This has been a long standing SEO tactic, as most notably YouTube is the 2nd most used search engine.

Now, whether people are actually searching for a service provider on YouTube or not is unlikely, but what IS likely is that Google will show a video related to that search in the regular search results.

We won’t get into all the technical nuts and bolts of video SEO right now, but I will show how to create a video simply.

First connect your Google My Business to YouTube

This step is important.

When you’re logged in to YouTube as the Google account that has manager or owner permissions to the Google My Business, it’ll give you the opportunity to create a Channel based on that Google My Business page.

You’ll find this by clicking the profile icon in the upper right.

Do this step.

Then create a video within YouTube

This is simple. All you need to do is upload some images and use the stock music files Google provides. Add some captions to tell the story of the pictures.

Optimize the YouTube video

Then you just make sure you fill in all the fields and options. Title the video by the service provided in the images and add the city if relevant. In the description, provide as much detail as you can and include your business’ NAP (name, address, phone) and a Call To Action.

That’s it! It’s really that simple.

Publish the video, share it on your website, directories, social media profiles.
