Back in its heyday, the Nextel Chirp seemed to be everywhere. I believe it was at the same time or surpassed by the popularity of people looking like they’re talking to themselves with Bluetooth devices.
Well… all that aside, using our phones as walkie talkies is easier than ever. There’s several apps on the market that work across all devices and networks.
Tell me if this sounds familiar…
I was in a remodeler’s office last week when I overhead him receive a phone call, and it went something like this:
“Hello.”
“Yea, he went to the store.”
That was it… that was the entire phone call.
There’s an easier way.
One that I’m very familiar with, and share with many friends, is called Voxer.
There’s a paid, business subscription, but the free version is enough to test if you want the paid options.
And it’s just so much easier than texting and fighting auto-correct, and talking like a robot for the speech-to-text option.
